Mountainside Lavender Farm – Hillsboro, Oregon – June 2018

Summer to me is about filling our time with visiting as many local farms to pick our own produce & adventure in the gorgeous Oregon outdoors. As a Texas girl living in Oregon, it’s not lost on me that we can adventure at all times of the day and (mostly) not worry about having a literal heat stroke (true story, I’ve had one) in the middle of the Summer. This is one of the main reasons we moved here – to avoid the excessive oppressive Texas heat/humidity.  So, as much energy as it takes to get both kids out and about all Summer long, I do not regret it and truly enjoy it.

We are so blessed that my mom visits from Texas often. She’s already been to the Sauvie Island Lavender Farm a couple years ago during a visit so, we decided to take her to a more local lavender farm, Mountainside Lavender Farm. They have the cutest family home and this adorable old weathered shed/barn where you pick up a basket & shears. They even had llammas this visit! You’ll typically be greeted by the super old lab dog as you pull into the small “parking area” in the grass.  The weather was beautiful and my Brady was a pro at cutting alllll the lavender. (I’ve been training him to pick fruit and cut lavender for a few Summers now lol). He got straight to work.  Here are some fun shots of my sweet boys and mom… she snapped a few of me with the boys, too. Notice the one of me “sternly talking to/disciplining” Brady lol. Ah, motherhood.
