I went home this weekend for my mom’s…drum roll…..50th birthday! Not only was it her birthday, but my aunt’s too (her twin). No, they’re not identical.

It was nice having most of the family in Houston for the festivities. My grandma moved into a new house for the first time in 43 years, so that was thrown into the celebration, too. My cousins and I had a blast just laughing at the adults. I hope I’m that silly when I grow up!

 Sunday I went to one of my childhood friend’s wedding shower. Sign of old age: when you get excited about receiving kitchen appliances as gifts and all of your friends are getting married.

My friends’ band, G.R.O. just signed with Capitol Records and are playing a few shows this week and are throwing a party this weekend in Fort Worth at 8.0’s. I’ll be at their show tonight at the House of Blues! Woo-hoo!
