The Mighty Slimcado

I’ve been on an “avocado kick” for the past month or two… It’s like I can’t get through 48 hours without enjoying an avocado. I don’t feel so badly because they have the “good fat” and they come directly from the earth, which is good. I’m not a big fan of diet foods or processed foods…..but, I heard Sally Field mention the new phenomenon of “slimcados” on one of my new favorite tv series, “Brothers and Sisters“. I honestly didn’t think it was a real thing… but turns out it is!

Naturally I freaked out when I spotted the slimcados at the grocery store. I immediately turned to tell someone the good news and realized I was alone. Dang it! I proudly brought it home to show my roommates. I sliced up a bit of it tonight for my dinner salad.

I wasn’t ecstatic with the burst (or lack of) flavor that the slimcado produced… but if I am just concerned with simulating the avacado experienced based on the appearance and texture, it’ll do. However, I missed the buttery texture and flavors from a real avocado. Oh well, I’ll learn to compromise occasionally with the slimcado.

Fact. Slimcados are nothing more than rebranded rotten cucumbers. Don’t believe me? Where are all of the rotten cucumbers at the grocery store? Point proven.
