Even though we’ve been berry picking several times this summer (it’s only the beginning of July) & I’ve made LOTS of freezer jam in addition to other edible things, it still feels inadequate. I want to go berry picking once a week. Brady’s become an expert berry picker! The part of me that wants to be a farmer/live on a farm enjoys just being able to show up for a few hours to harvest and then be on our way without all the super hard maintenance of farming. Thanks, Farmers! Our favorite local farm is Baggenstos. They are super friendly, clean, kind, and mostly sustainable. They have so many different things available for u-pick (nearly year round), as well as, a big farm store (where they also sell berry shakes in the summer). They’ve got a big corn maze festival in the fall and Brady loves the big new clean playground, farm animals, and farm equipment to climb on. All around, it’s wonderful, affordable, has breathtaking views of rolling hills, and most importantly close to us!
Here’s a fun video from our berry picking days so far this summer (I’m sure there’s more to come!)
