Pregnancy: Week 23 + Nursery Mood Board

This past week has been pretty good. I just hit week 23 of my pregnancy! I can’t believe I’m over half-way through my pregnancy already. Oh, how time flies. Little Brady has been moving like crazy the past couple of days and Brian is able to feel a lot of his movements with his hand on my tummy. I don’t think it will ever get “old”. Each little movement I feel is like a littler reminder of how much of a blessing this is.

The weather has already hit the low 100’s. And it’s only June. Bah! So, that means I’ve spent more time inside than usual during any free time I get. Planning a nursery. I’m not usually overly obsessed with decorating. I just obsess over paint colors and then the rest just falls into place. However, with the nursery I’ve been a little overly excited/obsessed with this “nesting” phase. Maybe that’s normal? It’s probably since we’re starting from scratch with the room.  We’ve almost completely cleared out the room (and one of the 2 closets), so we’re getting close.

This weekend my dad, Daria, and the kids came up for a day to visit. It was quite nice to have them in our home (it was their first time here). We hung out, picked out paint color samples for the nursery, grilled some yummy steaks, and went for a walk at the lake. It was lots of fun but kind of a whirlwind since it was such a short visit. We love having family in our home, it’s such a blessing.

Anyway, you’ll see where I tested some paint samples on the wall of our nursery below (yes that’s two closet doors). Every bedroom in our house has 2 closets.  It’s amazing how the little sample looks so white in-store and then you paint it on the wall and bam – it’s a way different color than expected.  I am going for something very light-neutral. Something a tad darker than the white we currently have on the walls, that will also look good against the bright white trim and will last a few years when Brady’s a toddler. I wanted something that would go with gray and earthy neutrals, but we already have 2 grey rooms in our house so I nixed that for the nursery.

I’ll post a “before” and “after” photo of the nursery once all is done!
