This blog entry is going to be a conglomeration of randomness… prepare yourself.

I have gone CRAZY for Craisins! Apparently as a child I loved raisins although, I will never fess up to that sick lie. Recently I was walking through the grocery store and my eyes landed on a bag of Craisins. I thought, “Wow, that’d be a tasty snack at work… I will try them out.” So did and I fell in love. I went through a bag in a week and bought another one last night. It really is one of the “sweetest ways to eat a cranberry”! Thank YOU, OceanSpray! This does NOT mean I will venture back into the world of liking raisins. According to my coworker, Craisins are “just insane raisins”. Maybe they are, but I doubt it.

Earlier this week I had a very relaxing night after work…right in front of my t.v. I’m not usually a big t.v. watcher, but I enjoy a good sit-com or movie. I ventured to one of my favorite channels that’s usually a hit or miss; the IFC, Independent Film Channel. I turned it on just in time as Igby Goes Down was starting! One of my artistic friends has suggested this movie to me before, so I was pretty excited to see it. It has an all-star cast, literally. Staring: Kieran Culkin, Susan Sarandon, Ryan Philippe, Jeff Goldblum, Claire Danes, etc… The film’s theme: Insanity is relative. The film’s plot: A young man’s peculiar upbringing renders him unable to competently cope with the struggle of growing up. The movie is sprinkled with dark humor at just the right moments. I caught myself laughing out loud, by myself. That’s when you know it’s truly funny- when you laugh at something alone. Some keywords that may be used to represent the movie: drug abuse, dysfunctional, NY, vegetarian, prep school, growing up, wealth, East Coast, sex, affair, dark humor. “Igby Goes Down” and its cast was nominated for and won a handful of awards, especially Kieran Culkin. Not to mention, the soundtrack was pretty good too.

Ellen Degeneres & Infomercials

The Hawaii Chair…. what tha-??

I have this slight obsession with infomercials… not that I truly believe them or think highly of them, but I LOVE making fun of/mocking them. Whenever I was younger I voluntarily made videos mocking infomercials (I know, a bit nerdy, but whatever). My favorite video I made was with my friend who received the “Revo Styler 3000”. It was this automatic-spinning round hair dryer/curling brush. You just simply plug it in and brush your hair while it does the rest of the work. Shazam! Now you’ve got the most massive knot of hair (and probably other household items it entangled in the process) wrapped around this appliance and battle wounds all over your skull as a consequence of trying to use the damn thing. Not to mention, my friend had extremely thick, tight-ringletly/curly red hair, which just added to the drama. God bless infomercials & their awesomeness.
