Camellias are my absolute favorite blooming shrub. I hail from Texas and we don’t have many of these, so I’m quite OBSESSED when they start blooming here in Portland in April. The first time I saw one blooming I thought it was some interesting looking rose… spoiler alert, it’s not! I walk around our neighborhood all googly-eyed at neighbor’s blooming shrubs and trees, gasping at their beauty. I scouted one of my favorite spots in Portland where these beautiful camellia trees burst with blooms and I KNEW it would be perfect for this family of little girls Spring photo session. One of my favorite things about camellias, besides their color, evergreen nature, symmetry and sheer beauty, is how they litter the ground beneath the tree/shrub, yet there’s still a million blooms left to enjoy at eye level and higher!

During our pre-session consultation call, we discussed wardrobe/attire and I was SO excited for the girls to wear their tulle skirts and cowboy (cowgirl) boots! Does it get any cuter?!!
