Fall Family Portrait Session | Portland, OR Family Photographer

This year we moved the Fall Mini Sessions from our usual location at Sunny Day Tree Farm to Gabriel Park in SW Portland on a different day (for a host of reasons). Glad we did, because the weather was better and we had some pretty fall foliage colors to work with! Our family loves Gabriel Park (and not just b/c it’s walking distance to Laughing Planet – one of our favorite kid friendly healthy restaurants littered with toy dinosaurs- haha!) My oldest son loves watching the kids in the skate park, running the various hills, and building forts under the giant trees. Of course, the spot I imagined shooting in was NAKED of leaves by the time we had our session, but we made do with other spots around the park.

Isn’t this family adorable? Caleb speaks American sign language and his wife, Rachel, is an ASL interpreter so, their family speaks both spoken english and ASL to their sweet daughter. It was neat to capture their communication style in these images. I love how Rory grabs her parents’ faces and directs it towards her when she wants to speak/sign to them.

Here’s some of my favorites from their session at the end of the day at Gabriel Park.
