We’ve been so blessed with good weather every year for Brady’s home birthday parties – two in Texas and two here in Portland, Oregon.  It’s usually later in the day on this birthday party at the end of October (31st) that The Rain Season begins in Portland.  Well, thankfully this year we had nice weather again for his afternoon costume party (his bday falls on Halloween).  This first image is the one included on his online invitation ;).

My mom was here to help out since Brian was offshore for the party (don’t worry we had a “family adventure day” before he went to work celebrating Brady’s 4th bday that included a dentist visit, the zoo, and ice cream). She had the genius idea of organized activities for the kiddos – which was a life saver and kept the large amount of kids under control and having fun.  We did a pumpkin bean bag toss, pin the stuff on Batman’s utility belt, decorate pumpkins with stickers, and best of all the candy filled piñata in addition to cake/ice cream/snacks!

I  originally made a dense fudge/brownie chocolate bundt cake (for the first time) per Brady’s request. It was a total fail and majorly stuck to the pan. Oops. So, literally hours before the party I whipped up a new vanilla cake with chocolate kiss (or possibly carob chips?) sprinkled on top. It wasn’t “pretty”, but it was good.

So grateful for all the friends that came out to celebrate our sweet boy’s 4th birthday!
