One morning we got up and drove up to Sauvie Island Lavender Farm (stay tuned for that blog post!), which is North of Portland, and then stopped by Cathedral Park on our way back. It’s a pretty cool landmark in Portland and I thought it’d make for some pretty pictures since I hadn’t stopped here before. You get some epic views of the towering St. John’s Bridge from below (at Cathedral Park) that sits on the East Side of the Willamette River.
Sam just wanted to run around and was getting bored with all my photo taking, but sweet Lisa was so patient and let me snap lots of pictures of her. We discovered a GORGEOUS patch of huge hydrangea plants that were blooming like crazy. Stuff doesn’t bloom like this (for very long) in Texas so it’s even more beautiful to me up here. Isn’t Lisa beautiful? She blends in perfectly with the gorgeous flowers.
Here are some photos of us exploring Cathedral Park… and some of Daria and Lisa together. The photo of Sandra lifting Brady by his shirt as he climbs makes my heart smile, because they have such a cute endearing relationship. Sandra (Daria’s mom) doesn’t speak English and Brady and I do not speak Portuguese (she’s Brazilian), yet they completely understand each other and she’s constantly looking after him. I love it. Then, the photo of Brady and Sam together pretty much sums up their relationship, because Brady like to follow Sam around and do “cool things” like him. 🙂
Dear Lauren,
What to say when looking at these beautiful images in a such a beautiful place? I love each one of them and it makes me want to go back! Thank you for these beautiful family pictures! Love you!
