Brady: 14 Months

_14Months_December2013

Brady, yet another month has aready passed! I’m behind in posting this due to some recent events that have occurred (which I’ll write about later), but better late than never! As can be expected you barely stop moving. You are FULL of personality – it’s unbelievable at times. Where do you learn these hilarious things?! You are babbling a lot lately. No clear definite words yet, but you point and “exclaim” things so proudly with a variety of facial expressions.  You have this funny expression where it looks like you’re saying “WHAAAAT?!!?” with scrunched eye brows & forehead with your mouth agape. It makes us laugh often.

You give away a lot of free giggles and laughter.  You enjoy putting items on your head (containers, etc…) and walking around while bumping into furniture.  You are incredibly receptive in your communication. We can give you a string of commands and you usually obey/respond with proper action. It is so amazing! When we ask you where your nose, eyes, mouth, etc… is you point to each one so proudly.  You also scrunch your nose & sniff in and out repeatedly – it’s adorable.

You’ve got 2 more teething breaking through on the top and bottom to make a total of almost 7 teeth! You EAT as much as a grown adult and your poor little belly is so distended – it seems you’re storing most of it in there for later or something.  You are more engaged and enjoy listening to books being read to you. Often times you’ll bring me a book and back into my lap to sit down. It makes my heart melt. Sometimes you bring the “Barnyard Dance” book to me while dancing and humming so we’ll join in with you (sometimes you’ll even slap your leg like we do as if announcing the barnyard square dance – haha).

This was the first 2-week stretch without Brian (dad). He was working his first hitch on a West Texas oil rig in Midland. We survived! Part of the time we went down to Katy for a photo job I had with Daria.  Turns out we had to stay in Katy for almost a week due to an ice storm that his Dallas while we were gone. It left our house without electricity for several days due to the below freezing weather. We had a blast staying at my Dad & Daria’s house with Sam and Lisa.

When dad returned from his 2 week stint, we had a fun family picnic/afternoon at the Children’s Garden at the Dallas Arboretum. You enjoyed playing with the big colorful educational toys and running around outside.  It’s great going during the week since it’s less crowded.

This was your second Christmas – and way more fun than the first. You loved opening your presents and pulling small toys out of your stocking. It was such a joy to watch you enjoy them and be overwhelmed with excitement although, we did go a little overboard on the amount of toys we got you this year. We hope to have more self control next year.  We also went to Katy for several days to visit family during Christmas. I will post photos from Christmas in another post since there are so many!
