Pregnancy: 33 Weeks

33 weeks pregnancy

HOW FAR ALONG? 33 weeks…. only 7 ish weeks left. (Although, this is a recap of week 32)

SIZE OF OUR SWEET BABY?  Weighs as much as a honeydew or pineapple (up to 19  inches head to heal, and maybe a little over 4 lbs).

MATERNITY CLOTHES?  Most of my shirts do NOT fit over my belly anymore, which makes me feel like I maybe need to have on daisy duke shorts, a baby on my hip, and a cigarette barely dangling off of my lip. So…. I’ve tried to stick with just dresses lately if I can help it.

GENDER: BOY

SLEEP?  Insomnia usually hits around 3 or 4 am for at least an hour. My dreams are still pretty weird and vivid. “Tossing and turning” at night is like an olympic sport and usually involves some grunt and gasping for air.

FOOD CRAVINGS?  Lots of fruit lately. Cold milk. Peanut butter.  Lots of smoothies.

WHAT I MISS?  My evening and weekend walks/bike rides at the lake.  Also, being able to reach my toes.

SYMPTOMS?  Oh boy, I feel like my body’s been flooded with pregnancy symptoms lately.  Major hot flashes. Still swollen feet. My fingers are a tad bit more swollen, but I can still wear my rings :).  Super BAD case of sciatica last weekend. People at the grocery store probably thought I was going into labor because of the way I was holding my back, gasping, and leaning over the cart. It comes and goes, and thankfully it’s stayed away for several days.  Big Belly – I can’t seem to go anywhere in public (no exaggeration) without someone commenting on my belly, asking when I’m due, or “calling” that I’m having a boy since I’m carrying so low.

BELLY BUTTON?  WAY stretched out, and you can see it pop through my clothes now.

BEST MOMENT(S) OF THE PAST WEEK? (There were lots!)

1. Brian and I went to Texas de Brazil for a belated birthday dinner last weekend with a gift card from my Dad & Daria. You better believe I ate my way through the night. I haven’t felt that full in a long time, but it was worth it.

2. At our 32 week appointment, the doctor was listening to the baby’s heart beat and little Brady kicked right where the device was and it surprised the doctor. It was pretty funny.

3. My friend’s mom finished sewing a custom bed skirt and pillows for Brady’s nursery this week! She did an amazing job and it looks great to have it in the nursery. She has an Etsy shop for little kids clothes – check it out!

4. On Thursday afternoon when I arrived at Switch with our weekly “Sonic Happy Hour” run, the entire Switch and Reap Marketing crews surprised me with a baby shower! I was so blown away  – my face probably went from surprised, to scared, to confused, to so thankful, to on the verge of crying, back to excited and surprised. hah…   It was so sweet. The Switch folks designed little onesies for Brady that were “Snackie” themed- which was an old nickname of mine. They decorated the conference room with orange streamers, big sunflowers, yummy finger foods, tons of drinks, and presents!  Since Bethany’s last day was Friday, we also celebrated her and wished her farewell to Salt Lake City where she’ll be working at Adobe.

5. This weekend Brian and I made lots of progress in the nursery. We hung the animal photos, large map, and hand stitched prayer on the walls.   It was a surprisingly pleasant experience and we laughed our way through the couple-hour task. Turns out we measured a tad wrong (we still can’t figure out how) and ended up not centering an entire wall of photos. Whoops. We’ll fix it later if it still bothers us, but otherwise they look great!

6. In reference to my last blog post about the ottoman mishap, I ordered another ottoman from the “sister” company of the glider we already have. Let’s hope it works just beautifully. Although, it’s backordered until the end of September, so hopefully I’ll have it in time before Mr. Brady arrives. It’s been so nice for me to sit in the glider and just look around the room and take it all in. It’s a nice quiet place to sit and read and pray and imagine all the moments we’ll share in this room. What a blessing.

7. I was at a baby store this weekend gathering some final necessities and I was looking at this baby bathtub I wanted to purchase when this lady came out of nowhere and offered to give me hers. For FREE. What?! People are SO nice. She promised she wasn’t a stalker and said since her son is 11 months now, she doesn’t have a use for it. She gave me her name and number and said she’d gladly bring it by or meet up with me. Uh, yes please. Thank you, lady who just saved me $50.

I have been so blown away by the kindness of strangers and friends who have gifted us so many things for this upcoming season in our life. We are SO grateful and hope to continually give back (hopefully) more than we receive!
