Weekend Trip To Katy – Family, Puppy, Celebrations…

A couple weekends ago Brian, George, and I made our way down to Katy for the weekend. We packed A LOT of family into one weekend. Friday night we stayed at my mom’s house and had a nice dinner together that she cooked. It was quite refreshing after driving 4 hours in some of the strongest rain we’ve ever driven through. It was stressful to say the least.  We met her crazy (but cute) new black lab puppy, Rosie.  George has a new stalker/best friend. We learned that Rosie likes to stand on her hind legs, wrap her arms around George’s neck and lick his mouth. It’s pretty funny watching the whole interaction. He doesn’t seem to like it all that much.

Saturday morning we made breakfast and then hopped over to my dad’s house a couple miles away to visit with him, Daria, and the kids. I always enjoy spending time over there because the kids grow so fast and I feel like we don’t get to see them enough! Daria took some casual “maternity” photos of me. We feasted on some fried chicken for lunch. Then, of course I took more of the kids playing and fishing with Brian.  After a few hours, we headed back to my mom’s to shower & clean up to head to Houston for Gammy’s 75th Birthday dinner celebration. Nearly the whole family was there, as well as, a few close family friends too. After a laughter-filled (delicious) seafood dinner, we headed over to Gammy’s house for some cake, ice cream, and presents. I just love hanging out with my cousins. I usually leave with an aching belly and tear streaked face from laughing so hard together.  It was the first time family really got to see my growing belly (I think I was about 16 weeks along), which was surreal and special.

Sunday morning we made breakfast and celebrated Mother’s day with my mom. She opened a couple small presents and a card over breakfast. Then, we cleaned up and headed to lunch with my dad, Daria, and the kids to continue a little Mother’s day celebration and see them before we left town. Mmm mexican food.  The whole weekend was filled with lots of fun family time and delicious food.  We went back to my mom’s to get George, load up, and head back to the Big D.

Here are some photos from our time in Katy.
