I feel like a true AMERICAN this morning. I went to my local “early voting” location, which was a small fire station, and I casted my VOTE! Yippee!!!  It’s amazing how many of us taking our right to vote for granted. There are so many women/people around the world who do not have the same right in their country. This was my first time to vote and I feel proud!

Many people also are easily intimidated by the voting process or aren’t sure what to expect, but it really wasn’t very difficult. I found my voting location online, walked in, showed my voter registration card, was handed a perforated carbon copy packed paper with my personal information listed, which was taken from me when I was guided to my voting booth. Then the lady explained what would happen once she keyed in my “number” and how to select candidates, etc… The voting booth was an electronic touch-screen. It was very simple. After reviewing my selections, I smacked the “VOTE” button at the top of the screen that was flashing red. DONE!  I couldn’t help but let the smile form across my face. I wanted to do it all over again. “Excuse me, can you turn this thing back on, please?!”

If you’re not sure if you’re going to vote, just get over it and VOTE! Many people think “Oh, I’m just one person, I can’t make a difference…” Just imagine if ALL of those folks who had the same thought were to actually vote. Hmmmm… think about  it.

PS- Elephants are some of my favorite animals.
