Memories & their timing

Church Lady

I was dumping my salad into a To-Go box last night when suddenly, I was taken back to when I was a little girl at the age of 9. I was playing on the church playground where was I attending “Vacation Bible School” that summer. After running around with a few of the kids, I returned to the clique of older ladies, who were the Bible Study teachers. I told them that it was hot outside and started fanning myself. That’s when they shared their wisdom with me and bent down to tell me that
Ladies don’t sweat; we glisten.

What the heck?! Where did that memory come from? I’m pretty sure there was nothing in my salad or the process of dumping it into the to-go box that had ANY relevance to that childhood memory what so ever! It’s SO strange to me how our brains have the capacity to maintian crazy/silly memories like that and interrupt our vision at the most random and irrellevant times of our life.
