Sunrises and Old People

These are photos of the sunrise this morning as proof that I was up THAT early! Even though it was only about an hour earlier than my using rising, it seemed like so much earlier. Luckily I got to enjoy this beautiful sunrise! My company, Lead Maverick, sponsored a Dallas Ad League members-only breakfast at the Clampitt Paper warehouse this morning (earlier than I would have liked). The subject of the seminar was focused on the future of search engine marketing. We had 4 great panelist and Sean Jackson, (my boss), was the mediator. Since this is a BLOG, I’ll mention that one of the panelist was Ted Murphy, the CEO of Pay Per Post. Basically you can have/pay bloggers to write about your company/business. This builds viral marketing like crazy. Genius.

I’d day it was an overall success, especially since I started the event off by trying to carry in all of our “flare” (brochures, papers, BANNER w/ case, etc…). I had 2 boxes, my purse, (all while sporting high heels & a skirt), and what looks like a GIANT clarinet or saxophone case (housing the banner). I’m outside the location and I bend over and swing the “clarinet case” over my shoulder…. WAAAPAHHH! There goes the case’s strap! That sucker flung right off! (Right as this nice young gentleman approaches to offer me help. Good thing he wasn’t standing to closely or he might have lost an eye.) Kinda embarrassing, but I’m used to stuff like this by now.

Quote of the day:
Quoter: Chris Thompson, my co-worker & CTO of Lead Maverick.
Quote (in response to my comments about the old couple sitting near us at lunch & wondering what it will be like to get old): “Aww man! Are you kidding? I would love to live in an old-folks- home. Psshh… Play BINGO all the time. I could play BINGO ALL day long! You’d be there with your friends… I’d wear a jumpsuit. You’d get to ride to the mall in a BIG VAN….”
