Etsy Jingle Bash – Dallas 2010

A couple weekends ago I had the privilege to shoot the Annual Etsy Jingle Bash in Dallas. It’s basically a craft show where local Dallas folks who have storefronts on Etsy.com set up their own booths and sell their goodies.  It was a lot of fun. I met some great (talented) people  and even saw some familiar faces.  I also experienced quite the crowd. Whew! It got to the point where it was literally stand-still packed and people could barely move.  It reminded me of being at the (super ginormous and totally insane) market in Bangkok. Except everyone spoke English and it was indoors. There was a line several hundred people deep to get in the doors at least an hour or two prior to them opening! The first 50 shoppers were given a “goody” bag with some free-bees and big coupons from sponsors and sellers. It’s a big hit. If you’re looking for awesome (quality) hand made items for yourself or as gifts, this is definitely the place to be. They had hand made jewelry, t-shirts, prints, pillow, lamps, pottery, baby clothes, candles, soaps, aprons, wreaths, purses/bags, letterpress cards, stationery, etc…

One of my friends (Christina of Paper Fingers) turned me onto Etsy. (Thanks!) She and her husband (and there 3 little ones on the way) manned their booth in the corner area, which was a nice escape area for a breath or two when needed throughout the afternoon.

Here are some of my favorite shots… you can also view my favorites on Flickr. You can also view the proof gallery here and order photos if you’d like.
