So much wedding on the brain lately. I’ve been emerged in wedding planning lately, and it’s very easy to get caught up in the minutia of details, when in reality I’m probably not going to notice these things on the day of the wedding. (Although, I want my guests to enjoy all the personal touches, even if I can’t!)
Anyway, while Brian and I plan for our future together, it’s also very easy to slip into the trance of caring too much about worldly things, but what it all boils down to is our love for each other and the Lord. We must not forget the importance of loving each other and doing the cute little things that display our affection, because in the end- that’s all that matters and will get us through this life together.
I’m a big fan of Ingrid Michaelson’s music (gosh she’s talented) and this song is so cute and kinda reflects my thoughts about not worrying too much and just loving on one another and balancing each other in times of need. This song also reminds me of our relationship for a number of reasons. (It reminds me of a little poem/song you’d write in elementary to your boyfriend.)

we might not have any money
but we’ve got our love to pay the billsmaybe I think you’re cute and funny,
maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you,

let’s get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance

making everybody look like ants
from way up there, you and I, you and I, you and I,well you might be a bit confused
and you might be a little bit bruised
but baby how we spoon like no one else
so I will help you read those books
if you will soothe my worried looks
and we will put the lonesome on the shelfoh let’s get rich and buy our parents homes in the South of France

From my friend, Kate’s words: Ok so the NFL doesn’t have a lot of upstanding citizens & they like to do hoodrat stuff & shoot themselves in the foot (literally)….but man are they talented!
This is pretty cool/talented stuff – (I’m assuming all of this is natural and no editing was done to these videos.)

I’ve recently rediscovered www.Pandora.com
As a little treat- here’s one of my favorite compositions from a recent film… “Maestro” by Hans Zimmerman from the film, “The Holiday.” He’s GOOD. I also really enjoy normal/non-classical songs… I’m sure I’ll include some in a future blog entry.

I am a HUGE fan of movie soundtracks. My favorite composer is John Williams. The family and I watched ET last weekend and it’s my favorite soundtrack of all time. I agree with you, without the music, ET would have been pretty good, but the soundtrack puts it WELL over the top. My other favorites include James Horner and Elmer Bernstein.
Enjoy and think about my comment over a nice cup of coffee…it really makes the holiday.

Yes- John Williams is a master at composing GENIUS soundtracks for movies. I also forgot to mention another one of my favorite artists (for films), Yo-Yo Ma, the great cellist. He worked with John Williams to create a beautiful soundtrack for the film, “Memoirs of a Geisha.” Another great memorable & touching soundtrack/compilation is from the modern-day “Romeo & Juliet.”

GREAT post, Lauren. Settle into planning your wedding in a way that is comfortable for you and your relationship. And as long as you keep your heart prepared for the greatness that comes in the days after the wedding, you are on the right track!
