A cheeky squirrel in Alberta’s Banff National Park has gone viral after stealing the spotlight in a tourist’s photo…
The photo below was borrowed from CBCNews.ca
I was enjoying my breakfast this lovely Friday morning while watching the Today Show before work, and busted out laughing when the above photo was flashed on my TV screen! Hilarious!! I can’t get over how funny the squirrel’s body language is – followed by the laughing tourists in the background! The tourists posted this photo to the National Geographic website, which helped spread the word of this amazing photo!!!
I also Tweeted about this first thing this morning…http://twitter.com/LaurenRatliff/status/3307745889
Below is a snippet from the news article I pulled the photo from:
Melissa Brandts, who was visiting from Minnesota, had set up her camera on a tripod to capture her and her husband, Jackson, in front of picturesque Lake Minnewanka in May.
The ground squirrel became the focus of the picture as the couple faded into the background.
Jackson Brandts took a few more shots using a remote-control shutter.
“A once in a lifetime moment! We were laughing about this little guy for days!” wrote his wife.
“We had our camera set up on some rocks and were getting ready to take the picture when this curious little ground squirrel appeared, became intrigued with the sound of the focusing camera and popped right into our shot!” she wrote.
Happy Friday. Enjoy.
I made my first photo slide show on anitmoto.com and it came out nicely… However, it’s a little bit too fast for my liking, but overall it was quick and easy to create. I will be using this tool more often! Click on the slide show to view… enjoy! Photos are from Sarah Ice’s Senior photos back in March I believe. We shot them in Fort Worth, TX, and photos were shot by (me) Lauren Ratliff Photography.

The world is a small place! I found my current tailor/custom alterations guy by doing a Google search for local tailor shops in Dallas. I found a local listing for one that seemed legit (had good reviews) and was close by, so I tried him out. He is just as good as his reviews claim! The tailor shop I’m talking about is HARRY’S TAILOR SHOP in Dallas. Since he not only did a great job altering my clothes, but provided some of the best customer service I’ve returned to him several times in the past 2 years for various alterations. I’ve learned that he has a lot of loyal customers, and is the “go to” tailor for most of the designer stores in Dallas.
Harry and I got to talking one day. I told him I worked for a start-up software company, Lead Maverick, and that I am also a freelance photographer on the side. He seemed very interested in my “background” in technology and search engines. To the average person I may be pretty familiar with how search engines work (it’s my job to know this) and the key elements to ranking well in search engines, etc…, but I am not an extreme expert. He seemed very interested in how he could affect his appearance in search engines. Since he’s not a very tech savvy guy, he asked me to “take care of it” for him in return for exchanged services. (Excellent!) So, I created for him a blog site (to serve as his website), as well as, took some photos of him and around his shop to show on the site. If you’re ever in need of custom alterations or a great tailor in Dallas, please visit Harry’s Tailor Shop. The screen shots below are of a few pages from the blog site for Harry’s Tailor Shop in Dallas (voted “Best Tailor in Dallas” by D Magazine!) To view all the photos listed on the site view Harry’s FLICKR stream/page.
