Welcome to my new blog location!!!

I am now hosting my blog through my website instead
of only through WordPress.

Since it is the holidays, I won’t be spending a lot of time online, therefore it might be a week or
so before I get to write another post. It’s interesting how each Christmas is different,
wether it’s who time is spent with,  who’s house we visit on Christmas day, where my Dad
happens to be located at the time, how long my holiday break is, etc…

This Christmas we’re going to my Aunt’s house in Lake Jackson for the day, then I have
a day to run errands and pack for Brazil. I’ll be visiting my dad/family in Rio for about a
week for New Years!! I’ll be updating you on that probably in my next post…

Merry Christmas. As cheesy as it sounds, remember to keep Christ in Christmas.

“The greatest events aren’t the loudest, but the most quiet hours.” ~ Unknown

A good quote I recently read. It would make for a great inspirational poster in a classroom…

This is so true though. Some of my favorite moments have been in the quietest hours…
whether I was standing on the top of a mountain over looking a valley, out in the middle
of a field somewhere in the country, lying on my back admiring the blanket of stars in
the sky, sitting in a 2 man boat alone in the middle of a lake, perched on skis ready to
dominate the slope just admiring the silence of the pristine powder, or even sitting with
someone and not having to say a word.

So often I find myself trying to fill the silence with music on my iPod, car radio, tv,
or to-do lists in my head that I forget to slow down and enjoy the quiet hours and
moments that I am given by God to help rejuvenate me.

Red Bull beverage
Well, I finally did it. I gave in. I consumed my first Red Bull beverage since I was a sophomore in high school (about 8 yrs ago).

I have always been skeptical of the Red Bull beverage(s)… but it was just screaming
my name today in the deli’s refrigerator this morning. I HAD to take it back to my
office with me. I already downed 1.5 cups of coffee before work, why not add a RedBull
to the list ?? So, I did. I am not sure if Red Bull has adjusted the tase of the beverage,
but it was a beautiful taste on the lips in comparison to my first taste in the year 2000.
My first thought was “liquid sweet tarts!…I can’t stop!” Who can have any self control
when you’re drinking what tastes like a liquid combination of sweet tarts and smarties candy??!!

I think the drink actually did for me what a cup’ocoffee might do. Recently I’ve been
reminded of why I used to hate the taste of coffee. I have been holding my nose in order
to consume a cup of coffee lately… maybe Red Bull will be the next victim to my routine
appetite addictions. However, I’ll be taking the sugarfree route. Thank YOU, Red Bull.
